Formula
Weight = area × compacted depth × compacted density
Allowance is applied after the in-place weight is calculated.
Calculation steps
- Calculate section areas.
- Multiply by compacted depth.
- Apply entered density.
- Apply allowance and convert units.
- Round by truck payload when enabled.
Worked example
A 10 m × 5 m section at 0.1 m depth and 2,000 kg/m³ weighs 10,000 kg before allowance.
Assumptions
- Density is compacted in-place density.
- The default 148 lb/ft³ is only an estimating reference.
- Pavement design is excluded.
- Truck payload is user-entered.
- Costs exclude preparation, labor, delivery and tax.
